Mental Discipline Will Change Your Life When Using It With The Law of Assumption & Creating Your Reality

Posted on by Ashley

In this episode I discuss how learning how to direct the thoughts you have will help you create the version of your life you want to experience in the now moment. I also discuss how doing inner work and shadow work can help you with this if you are having difficulty with the concept of being the version of you that has the life you desire. This teaching is centered around teachings of spirituality, shadow work, inner work, thought creation, creating your reality and the universal laws such as law of attraction and law of assumption.

Hello everyone, it’s Ashley, and I’m here with another message for you. Welcome to my channel or podcast, wherever you’re listening. Thank you so much for being here.

On my channel, we talk all about spiritual living and self-awareness. This encompasses many things that will help you create the life you want, no matter your previous experiences or where you’ve come from. None of that truly matters, and I want you to know that.

Today, we’re going to discuss mental discipline. You’ll hear this concept talked about in different ways, but I want to break it down as simply as possible for you. Basically, you have to gain control of your thoughts. It’s both an internal and an external process because how you think and perceive yourself determines your everyday, moment-by-moment experience.

If you want to see any external change in your daily life or current reality, you’ve got to control your thoughts. For some, this is simpler, while for others, it’s more challenging. You need to start seeing yourself and becoming the version of you that embodies your desired reality or “new story,” whatever term you prefer.

Throughout the years—many years, actually—it took me a long time to grasp this, and I’m trying to help you understand it more quickly. It’s been described as “acting as if,” “creating your own reality,” or “becoming your higher self.” What you’re simply doing is shifting from the same old repetitive thought patterns and comfortable, familiar story. You have to start being the version of you that already has your desires and lives the life you want.

This comes from remembering that you already have it because everything originates from within. In my understanding and experience, at this time (and I say “at this time” because we should always be learning and growing), whatever you want to call our divine creator—the Divine, God, Source, the All—everything comes from within. A part of the Creator is within us, and it’s the grand controller of the cosmos, the universe, or the multiverse. But let’s not get too deep into that side of things.

What I want to impress upon you so you can understand is that if you think about creation, all is finished. If all is finished, then you have access to everything that already exists. So, you’re not trying to get something; your goal is to be the something you want to be. This initially requires mental discipline because you’ll have to check your thoughts. There will come a time when it feels natural, but at first, it’s a conscious effort to control and stop yourself from reverting to the old version.

Let me give you some examples to make this clear. Let’s say you desire a new job. You’ve been submitting applications and resumes and getting certifications, but nothing’s working. Nine times out of ten, the thoughts ruminating in your mind (or expressed out loud) are: “It’s so hard to get a job. So many people are applying, and even though I make sure I have all the keywords, nobody’s calling me back. It’s a saturated job market. These jobs aren’t paying enough.”

You’re constantly speaking about what’s on the outside, and your external reality reflects your internal state. If you’re saying all those things externally, then internally, your belief system likely says, “It’s always hard for me. No one ever chooses me.” These are just examples; there could be a myriad of other things you’re thinking internally, like, “Why would they choose me when all these people are applying?” or “Oh no, I need it to be like this.” It’s coming from an energy of not knowing that you have it, not believing it’s yours, not believing you’re worthy, that you deserve it, or that you can even get it.

So, what you have to do is stop those thoughts. We won’t even get deep into the “being” part right now because I want you to understand this first: you have to stop those thoughts. At first, it might feel a little uncomfortable, and you might believe you’re lying to yourself. Whatever you want to believe, just do it. I’m telling you, just do it. You have to switch your thoughts from “I don’t” to “I do.”

Affirm things like, “Yes, of course, I’m going to get chosen. My resume and my work speak for themselves. I’m always chosen. I always get the job, and they give me bonuses. This is the highest-paying job I have ever had and will continue to have more.” You need to switch to thoughts like that and keep on keeping on. Remember that you are the one for whom things always work out.

I don’t care if life has been hard. I don’t mean to be callous or unsympathetic, but I want you to truly grasp this because I want you to live your best life. You have to know that all you desire is here for you to experience, and you have to put this into practice.

What I see and have experienced is that the majority of people (myself included at one time) were trained to think the opposite—to believe you had to work hard, hustle, and that there was no rest. If you rested, you were lazy. Things didn’t come easy. All of this conditioned you to think that “hardness” would always be your reality, and that success was only for some people. But that is not the truth at all.

You can have, live, and be your desires. You just have to make a decision about what you want, know that it’s yours, speak the words, think the words, and take actions that are aligned with that version of you, your story, and your experience. Have fun with this because it’s so simple, yet it’s been made to seem hard. It doesn’t have to be that way.

So, discipline your mind. Sometimes, thoughts of the opposite—the old story—will creep in. All you do is check it. If a negative thought pops up while you’re affirming, “I’m always chosen, I always get what I want, this job is already mine, I have so many job offers that people are fighting to give me the job,” and then the opposite thought pops up, like, “Well, why would they choose me?” You can cancel it out. Internally, tell yourself, “No, we’re not on that anymore. That’s not what I said. That’s not what we’re doing. I am the one that always gets the job, and when I get the job, it is easy, simple, aligned with me, and it pays me however much I want whenever I want.” That’s how you have to do it. Mental discipline is the key.

Now, if you’ve been with me for the past few years, you’ll know that I talk a lot about shadow work and healing. Let’s bring this together because sometimes it’s not as simple for some to just start thinking differently. Some people need to know why and how. Shadow work helps you figure out where these old thoughts or ways of thinking came from in the first place.

If that’s you, I highly encourage you to still do shadow work, but I want you to know that it’s not necessary for everyone. Shadow work will help you understand why you’ve thought the way you have up until now. When you’re turning onto a new path, it will help you resolve those areas in your mind—with your relationships, your family, perhaps things that were told to you, or just “the way it is.” Old wounds or things that have occurred. Shadow work is very beneficial.

I say, do not discard it if you are truly a person who needs to know why things happen. That will help you see that these thoughts didn’t even come from you; you’ve just been automatically reacting to what you were conditioned to believe, programmed, or what was familiar. But now that you know that, if you choose the path of shadow work, you can then make a very concrete, conscious decision to think for yourself and create life how you desire it to be.

I’ll leave it there. I hope this was helpful to many of you. Trust that it is. If you have questions, please remember you can always leave them in the comments below, whatever platform you’re listening to this on. You can also email me at alightindarknessforyou@gmail.com. Until we speak again, have a beautiful, beautiful day.

Much Love,

Ashley

Hello, I'm Ashley

Hi I'm Ashley. This blog is dedicated to helping you shift your thinking about who you are and your life experiences.

You have the power to create the life you visualize and walk in a new state of being. You're already doing it daily. I know how challenging it can be to fully accept and do this when you've been told otherwise your entire life.

That's why I want to help you. I've been there. All you have to do is be open to a new way of living from the inside out, using your spiritual mind. I'll teach you how to do it.

Spiritual living has changed my life. I am honored to help all who are ready to change their lives.

In my personal time I enjoy a simple life of homeschooling my children, nurturing my family, gardening, cooking, tending to my home and creating my reality.

Love, Ashley
